      Hi guys,

I’m trying to save battery life here. Would love for the screen light to dim after a short while of inactivity and come back to bright when I press a key. Microsoft have decided to remove the entry in Power Settings for some reason.

      Any ideas?

I read Tim’s article http://www.lovemysurface.net/turn-off-the-screen-on-surface-tablets/ which blanks the screen completely. Not sure if this works for SP4 on Win10?

        Hi Andy,
In Control Panel\Power Options, edit the Balanced plan settings. Here you can “Turn off the display” on battery. You can set it from Never – 1 minute.
        Good luck!

Oh and in case you don’t see that setting, check out our article on how to re-enable it: http://www.lovemysurface.net/windows-10-power-settings-for-surface/
