      Hi all,

I’m new to the site and just recently purchased the Surface Book. It’s an excellent product MS has introduced.

I have an issue with the keyboard. When I try the shift key to type @ I get ” instead. Hitting the Alt key seems to somehow trigger it to get the @ character but I’m unsure exactly why it defaults to ” instead of @.

I’ve set my keyboard to English Australia, US keyboard.
      Any ideas?

Do any other keys actually act weird or just the one? If it’s just the one, I’d say you have a defective keyboard. You can verify by attaching a USB keyboard and see if the problem persists.

If the external keyboard works fine, it’s the keyboard.

If it’s more than one key acting weird (or if the external keyboard also produces the wrong character, I’d double-check all of the region & language settings.
