I am a project leader for a Surface Pro 4 deployment for about 110 users.
The SP4 will be running Windows 10, with a custom image. The image to be honest is relatively standard, with the usual bunch of apps on.
I need to understand if Windows 10 keeps the nic alive when the Surface is asleep.
My understanding and perhaps I am wrong, is that the nic will stay alive and receive emails etc. and if connected to a vpn, that will also remain active. However, when you ping the Surface and then put the Surface asleep, the ping drops.
The Wi-fi boxes for keeping the wifi alive which are under options under Settings \Power and Sleep \ are on.
Does anyone know what the expected behaviour is?
